Job Title: Architectural Designer
Job Description

Join a dynamic team focused on renovating the West Memorial building in Ottawa, a heritage site expected to house the supreme court. This project, although delayed, presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a significant architectural endeavor.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop technical designs and edit architectural drawings to ensure solutions meet quality standards, project timelines, and budget requirements.Perform design activities including programming, code research, material and building systems research, layout of program components, and calculation of program and building areas.Evaluate site conditions and conduct site surveys.Review project products, services, and shop drawings.Process permit response letters and coordinate revisions with engineers and consultants to obtain necessary documentation and permits.Coordinate with contractors, sub-consultants, and relevant building authorities to address and document issues related to constructability or owner concerns.Essential SkillsProficiency with Revit (3-5+ years of experience).Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Designer (5 years preferred).Detailing experience.Familiarity with structural building systems and building codes.Relevant project experience with buildings including courthouses, heritage/historic sites, healthcare, commercial buildings, and residential buildings.Additional Skills & QualificationsHeritage site/building experience with similar levels of complexity and detail.Justice/courthouse experience.Experience with public building projects; government work is an asset.Security clearance eligibility (reliability).Work Environment

This role offers the flexibility of being fully remote or working from any of the local offices in Canada, such as Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto. The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
