Job Description
As an Architectural Project Manager, you will be responsible for guiding projects through every stage of the architectural process—from initial design to final occupancy. You will independently manage tasks, set priorities, and coordinate efforts, receiving overall direction from an Office Director. This role requires experience in managing multifamily projects.
ResponsibilitiesGuide projects from initial design to final occupancy.Manage tasks independently, setting priorities and coordinating efforts.Work closely with private developers, either directly or as a consultant.Guide and support junior team members using technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.Manage client relationships, setting clear expectations, maintaining schedules, defining scope, and building trust.Create project workplans, timelines, and scope/fee proposals with input from senior leadership.Organize and manage both internal and external team responsibilities effectively.Juggle multiple tasks across one or more projects, maintaining focus and efficiency.Essential SkillsAt least 5 years of professional experience, including 2 or more years managing architectural projects similar in size and complexity.Solid understanding of working with private developers.Ability to guide and support junior team members.Strong communication and leadership skills.Experience creating project workplans, timelines, and scope/fee proposals.Strong organizational skills.Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently.Familiarity with design and drafting tools such as SketchUp, Revit, and AutoCAD.Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.Experience using Microsoft Office tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsPositive attitude, strong work ethic, emotional maturity, and collaborative mindset.Comfortable working with a diverse group of people with different skills, backgrounds, and personalities.Work Environment
The position is within a 60-person firm with offices in Madison & Milwaukee, WI, and Denver, CO. The Denver office, established 5 years ago, hosts 12 people, including two other Project Managers. Approximately 75% of the work is multifamily, focusing on market rate and affordable housing, with the remaining 25% in government, cultural, and commercial projects. The firm typically handles larger scale projects.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
