Architectural Project Manager (Starship)

ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT MANAGER (STARSHIP) 

As a member of the Starship Launch Engineering team you will work with a group of elite engineers across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate infrastructure that will enable orbital launch capability for the largest rocket in the world. This position is based at Cape Canaveral, FL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate with stake holders, engineers, and external design professionals to design and build Starship’s next generation vertical integration facilities, including managing all phases of the project from planning to final delivery Develop and issue architectural drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial type building projects Interact with contractors, fabricators, owners, and internal clients to develop project requirements, schedule, and cost estimates prior to project implementation Own budget & schedule for a scope of work within a multi-disciplinary team, including all facets of engineering, permitting, procurement and construction Lead BIM coordination efforts for multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring the seamless integration of models and data. Specifically, this will be a mix of in-house processes/elements and external design consultants through the whole project lifecycle Act as the primary BIM resource for team members, internal customers and external design consultants, addressing technical issues and optimizing BIM processes for project success Own architectural work packages inclusive of the full lifecycle of tasks and/or projects. The following project management responsibilities are applicable: Provide budgetary costs based upon the preliminary scope of the project Gather proposals from architects, engineers and contractors; assign contracts upon receipt of all proposals Develop the final cost and schedule for the project, and implement controls as needed to manage cost, schedule and scope Facilitate city, county, and governmental approvals Coordinate project implementation and track project status Work with the facilities team and end user in order to operationalize the post-construction building operations and maintenance functions Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time Promote job site safety as a top priority, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management or architecture 3+ years of experience creating architectural construction documents including plans, elevations, sections, and details

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Professional Engineering (PE) or Professional Architect (RA) Knowledge of International Building Code (IBC) & other relevant architectural codes Familiarity with Blender, D5, Vray or similar rendering software Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM software, along with experience in model management, clash detection, and project coordination. The ability to model and coordinate in 3D, specifically with Revit and related software Knowledge of processes of governing permitting agencies such as building departments and/or environmental agencies Understanding of other disciplines such as: mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying Experience with project management of major construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management Experience with at least three of the following project delivery phases: 1) conceptual layout and high level trade studies 2) detailed engineering design and development 3) request for proposals/quotes, contract issue 4) supervision of construction to completion 5) work punch lists and certificate of occupancy (CO) with building official

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying light weight such as materials or equipment (ability to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted) Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain Perform work occasionally in an environment with exposure to fumes, odors, and noise using appropriate personal protective equipment Must be available to work extended hours on occasion

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:          
Architectural Project Manager/Level I: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/per year
Architectural Project Manager/Level II: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
