Job Description

The Architectural Sales Representative manages architectural promotion to influence the design and specification process and position Fiberon’s products for use on commercial projects, while effectively utilizing his/her time and resources to increase sales output. You will implement current sales strategies and drive the specification position for Fiberon’s cladding products with the Architect, Interior Designer and Specifier community.  Understanding of the roles of the General Contractor and Owner and ability to effectively communicate with and influence these decision makers is essential.

The ideal candidate will have proven success in building material sales calling on architects, designers, and others within the design community, you will be open to traveling 50%, affiliated with CSI, CDT, AIA, LEED or similar organizations, and be familiar with the architectural specification process.

Location: This position is eligible for a remote schedule with 50% travel expected.

What you will be doing:

Interface and build relationships with Architects and other actors in the design communityInfluence the specification process with Specification Writers/CreatorsBuild a prominent specification position for Fortune Brands Outdoors productsNational Accounts management and corresponding master specification and brand approval processImplement agreed upon marketing strategies for distributor customersEvaluate effectiveness of current sales strategies and programsIdentify projects where Fiberon has been specified or submittedCreate and maintain a project pipeline in CRMTrack/Maintain specified/submitted project pipeline through to order received stageDocument all activities in CRMPresent AIA/CES courses to ArchitectsCoordinate market intelligence on product, program, shipping, and market segmentsCollaborate with other Fiberon personnel as required to provide technical assistance, training, project-start-up, dealer assistance, contractor assistance, problem resolution, etcManage the sales process through dealer or distribution channels, as requiredDevelop a trained and consistent installer baseParticipate in regional design organizations and promotional/trade show activitiesParticipate in national promotional/trade show activities as requiredAssist in Product Development as requiredDrive specification and awareness around strategic new product launches to deliver revenue goalsGather information on competitive activity and prospective strategic directivesAssist in managing inventory levels at distributor’s locations

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

3-5 years of proven sales experience in building materials, pulling through the architectural channels and influencing specificationsStrong understanding of the architectural specification process with demonstrated experience in promoting to architects, designers and specifiersAbility to self-manage and manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyAbility to anticipate market and client opportunities and respond appropriatelyFamiliarity using Microsoft Office products. (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)CSI, CDT, AIA, LEED, and other similar organization affiliations

Nice to Have:

Bachelors DegreeExperience within the Consumer/Durable Goods industry.Familiarity using CRM platforms (i.e. Hubspot)

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $65,000 USD - $95,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
