Job Description
We are looking for an Intern Architect to join our team. Initially, you will support a large retail program and later have the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects. You will gain experience supporting projects from conception through completion. Your initial responsibilities will include producing construction documents, with future tasks and professional development in design, construction administration, project management, and coordination with consulting engineers.
ResponsibilitiesReview work requirements, analyze and plan specifics to use resources efficiently and avoid wasted effort; notify the project lead of any conflicts.Adhere to daily schedules and directions from Job Captain/Project Manager/Project Director relative to assigned tasks.Maintain a running list of project questions to be reviewed and answered by the project lead.Complete drafting assignments with a high degree of technical skill, quality, accuracy, and speed.Collaborate with other internal departments and teams as directed by Job Captain/Project Manager/Project Director.Utilize CADD skills as trained and required to complete assigned work.Use Photoshop and/or other 3D rendering programs to develop conceptual schematic materials for assigned projects.Follow office standards for production drawings and check your work for errors before releasing sheets/drawings.Advise the project lead of any questions, problems, or necessary changes as they occur.Inform team members of specific changes as directed by the project lead.Notify the project lead of known dates and times that might affect the completion of a specific job assignment.Essential SkillsProficiency in Revit for architectureExperience with 3D modelingSkills in project coordinationExperience in design and productionKnowledge of BIMDrafting skillsArchitectural design proficiencyAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of ArchitectureEntry level to 2 years of experience working for an architectural firm, preferably in retail or other commercial experienceRendering or Photoshop experience is a plusSelf-motivated, organized, and a strong communicatorWork Environment
This position is based in a new office equipped with brand new technology. The team currently consists of six people with plans to grow by adding two more immediately. We offer a relaxed, flexible, and employee-friendly environment. While we are flexible with work and personal life, this role requires working in the office. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $28.85/hr.
