JOB PURPOSEBurberry is looking for a skilled Archive Collections Assistant to join the Archive Team. Within this position you will enhance the support by assisting with collections management and fulfilling Design Team requests. You will focus on driving a key collections management initiative and supporting an essential preservation project.
RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities include auditing archive assets, identifying signs of material instability, meticulously documenting observations, and conducting preservation activities with specialist equipment (training provided).
Additionally, you will prepare detailed condition reports and ensure precise data transfer, both physically and digitally, using advanced software tools, especially Adobe.
From time to time:
Assist with design loan requests, ensuring proper retrieval, storage, and handling of archive assets. Maintain accurate archive records, support digitisation, and oversee cataloguing, sorting, and labelling of collections. Update documentation, create packing lists, and compile necessary contact sheets and information. Produce weekly reports and actively participate in team meetings and catch-ups. Handle personal deliveries of archive assets and coordinate administrative tasks like transport bookings. PERSONAL PROFILE Background in corporate archive, conservation, or museum with expertise in collections management. Strong interest in fashion or history studies. Proficient in Mac (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Bridge & Photoshop). Digitally savvy with strong research and communication skills. Quick at analysing information, including visual data. Proactive, solution-focused, and highly organised with excellent time management and brand awareness. Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work independently or in a team, take on new tasks, and thrive in a busy, changing environment.
