About the role

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Reworld Area Asset Manager will oversee and manage the overall service provided to the primary municipal clients and/or merchant customers together with maximizing Reworld’s financial performance for multiple facilities. This role emphasizes safety, promoting an inclusive work environment, and fostering collaboration and innovation across teams to enhance company performance.

The Area Asset Manager will lead asset management and development activities at various facilities, ensuring that all operations adhere to the highest safety standards while prioritizing the well-being of employees and communities. The role entails oversight of revenue-generating activities, including service agreements, expense and capital items related to facility operations, improvements, and operational byproducts (residues). They will also have visibility and input into services provided by other disciplines of Reworld, including waste procurement, energy opportunities, residue management, and community outreach. The manager must establish credibility and foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring all stakeholders (Employees/Clients/Political/Industry leaders) feel valued and heard.

They will also be a key point of contact with the Corporate Communications group for the specific assets under their control. The Area Asset Manager must be able to originate and lead a goal-oriented team of multi-disciplined managers, encouraging collaboration and innovative thinking to drive revenue growth and profit improvement for Reworld’s asset base.

The role will work closely with Reworld’s Operations group, specifically Facility Management teams, to ensure accuracy of financial data and thresholds for decision-making purposes on both short- and long-term bases. The Area Asset Manager must engage in constructive dialogue, valuing diverse perspectives, and use innovative, sound decision-making processes to achieve success. On frequent and regular occasions, the Area Asset Manager will report to the Regional VP/GM and senior leadership team on the asset’s financial performance and identify tactical and strategic opportunities.

What You'll Do:

As part of the facility management team, plan budgets and set forecasts, review economic and operating performance, perform variance analysis, recommend and implement solutions, and ensure pro forma financials are updated (P&L management).

Prioritize safety and compliance by ensuring all operations meet or exceed safety standards and regulations.

Coordinate activities with various internal disciplines to ensure adequate planning and review in the areas of asset preservation, regulatory, and contract compliance.

Manage applicable commercial agreements and work with internal subject matter experts/disciplines to derive maximum value (including risk management) of the agreements.

Establish and maintain external relationships with local communities and regulatory agencies, with a focus on collaboration and inclusive community engagement.

Anticipate emerging market and regulatory changes, and develop mitigating and/or opportunistic plans that are both innovative and aligned with the company’s safety and DEI values to maximize the value of the asset.

Focus on asset improvement and development, driving revenue and margin growth (Asset strategy), and incorporating innovative solutions.

Ensure prompt, reliable service delivery to Reworld’s customer base.

Manage and direct stakeholders at all levels, including internal and external senior executive and elected-level decision-makers, with a commitment to inclusivity and open collaboration.

Develop and implement strategies that align with Reworld’s core values of safety, diversity, collaboration, and innovation.

What You'll Bring:

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or other strong technical degree combined with a well-developed operating background required.

MBA with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business/Finance preferred, or commensurate experience.

Strong manager and team player with effective leadership skills that reflect a commitment to DEI, safety, collaboration, and innovation.

Minimum of 5 years of experience managing profit and loss, budgets, and forecasts in an industrial/production environment, or commensurate experience in a similar business required.

Strong business acumen, proactive thinker with a detail-oriented and creative problem-solving approach.

Solid analytical, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and foster collaborative efforts across teams.

Highly developed verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships by promoting an inclusive and collaborative environment.

Strong planning and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

Executive presence with confidence in decision-making, aligned with the values of safety, DEI, and collaboration.

Strong strategic thinker with proven negotiation skills, incorporating innovative approaches to challenges.
