The Regional Bridge Practice Leader will be responsible for developing a market strategy, managing the staff within the area’s bridge practice, and achieving operational KPI’s for a multi-state region within the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the US. The Regional Bridge Practice Leader will develop business expansion and operational strategies working in combination with Area Leaders, local and national Client Delivery Leaders, and Division Leaders within Verdantas.
Responsibilities: Supervision and career development of the bridge staff including recruiting and retaining key employees Proactive management of the current and future skills needed to maintain high-quality deliverables Leading a quality management program for the practice including authoring and/or contributing to the Quality Control Manuals for use across the company. Perform project audits at key milestones, provide constructive feedback, and author corrective action plans as appropriate to successfully complete work within the project scope and fee Serve as Sr. Technical in responsible charge of key projects (bridge and similar civil engineering infrastructure) while leading multi-discipline production teams Management of bridge opportunities, backlog, and resource work sharing to achieve utilization targets Monitor regional bridge practice backlog and maintain a forecast of staffing needs Establish and maintain collaborative business relationships across Verdantas offices. Leverage existing client relationships to help grow the Bridge practice Client satisfaction and industry engagement. Develop and execute strategies to expand Verdantas’ position in the market by attending and being recognized at industry events
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is required. Master's degree is desired Minimum 20 years of bridge design including 10+ years of project management experience is required. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with DOT’s and Toll agencies across PA, MD, DE and the New England states Project Management Certification preferred Experience managing moderate to complex bridge rehabilitation/ replacement projects involving multiple disciplines such as roadway, drainage, geotechnical etc.; and experience supervising the execution, financial performance, and quality assurance of multiple simultaneous projects Must possess a valid Professional Engineering License in PA; additional states preferred with the ability to obtain reciprocity where needed Prior experience as Project Manager on moderate and complex level State DOT Bridge Design projects. Management experience should include varying contact types that include both traditional design-bid-build as well as Alternate Delivery (P-3, Design Build, etc) agreements Be able to qualify as a Design Manager and/or Lead Structural Engineer on a qualifications-based Design Build Project Have the skills to perform QC Oversight responsibilities. This includes an understanding of the technical design and constructability requirements, and risk management skills needed to provide those quality reviews Ability to leverage existing connections and client relationships to help identify and/or win new bridge/structure work Ability to effectively network and influence at peer levels Knowledge and experience in financial management platforms Strong background in ownership, initiative, and dedication to high-quality engineering services and client deliverables
