About this opportunity:
The main purpose for the Area Business Team (ABT) Maintenance Lead is to provide leadership and strategic planning to deliver ABT results.
The person best suited for this position will have strong understanding of maintenance processes, the ability to analyze and understand performance data, and the ability to lead and influence others to achieve goals of the business. They will work closely with the Operations and Technical leads to drive continuous improvement in the business.

What you’ll do:
Technical Leadership
Coordinates maintenance resources in the area by establishing complex priorities and managing workflows of key workstreams with the goal of improving reliability
Liaises with the Area Business Team Operations and Technical Leads to enable safe and reliable operations in assigned area
Tasked with improving maintenance important metrics consistently
Identify resource needs and collaborate with the maintenance functional organization to ensure adequate/appropriate resource availability
Drive business results and improvement in all aspects of maintenance organization as part of the ABT leadership team
Managing Risk
Coordinates maintenance staff to drive risk mitigation through prioritization of critical maintenance work for the Business Team
Provide support for Turnaround planning, risk analysis and items on the Turnaround work list
Reviews incident reports, HAZOP recommendations, and RCFAs and assigns staff and priority to action items
Drives area maintenance resolution of items on the refinery threat list
Continuous Improvement
Champion reliability, and predictive and preventive maintenance programs
Provide technical guidance to subordinates in troubleshooting and analysis, and long-term direction and leadership to increase reliability through continuous improvement of maintenance systems, processes and people
Find opportunities to decrease costs and enhance maintenance efficiencies to improve reliability, production, and profitability
Establish long and mid-term planning related to turnarounds, upgrades, new equipment, etc. to accomplish goals and visions, taking into consideration resources, constraints and organizational values
Lead area maintenance organization in achieving targets related to critical metrics such as PM compliance and time on tools
Accountable for the appropriate prioritization of maintenance activities within the ABT
Coordinates with other ABT maintenance leads to manage resources across the refinery
Developing plan for improving backlog and communicating needs to functional org
Capability Development
Advises on training deficiencies of maintenance staff
Plays integral part of the staff selection process for maintenance resources
Participates in bi-directional feedback to functional leads on personnel performance with regard to personnel career and formal performance review planning
Who you are:
Post-secondary degree in a related field
Minimum 5+ years of refining experience
Require at least 3 years leading maintenance teams with strong communication, organization, motivation, decision making, and conflict resolution skills
Experience leading cross functional teams to resolve problems
Track record of driving progress through thoughtful analysis
Experience with SAP or other business enterprise software
