Area Director - Decommissioning

                                   

Decommissioning Area Director is accountable for the successful execution of the Geozone DECOM strategy driving sustainable profit, including the P&L and operational execution. The role will oversee the area business development and customer relationship management, service delivery execution and develop a unified culture which translates to a cohesive service offering for customers. He/she will work closely with the GBMs, Sales, and Support Functions to deliver growth, optimized performance, and bottom-line results. The Area Director will report to the Geozone Vice President.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

QUALITY 

Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management System  Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement

OPERATIONS 

Responsible for planning, operation and growth of product line in the respective region Drive the Service Delivery process by providing assurance and support for operational capability planning, project management, engineering, overall staffing levels and competency development. Drive the Service Delivery process by providing leadership to investigating incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and remedial actions are completed and accountability is applied to the appropriate level of the organization (including Geozone Product Line data integrity within WPTS) Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, product lines and marketing to develop and provide product definitions, as well as be responsive to customer needs and market opportunities in support of Country Operations managers Work with manufacturing and operations in order to manage inventory and asset utilization including recurring demand planning Partner with other Product Lines throughout the Geozone in order to offer clients an integrated solution suite Contribute to and Review Country Bid Summary Analysis (BSA’s) for applicable projects with justification both strategic and financial.  Coordinate teams and resources to ensure technical solutions/designs are delivered to the customer Share accountability with Sales and Business Development teams for local customer relationships and market share encroachment. Maintain a high profile within customer community

COMMUNICATION 

Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external Supervisors & Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports

FINANCIAL 

All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure

PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT 

Share accountability with Sales and Business Development teams for local customer relationships and market share enrichment. Maintain a high profile within customer community Establish, lead and maintain an effective organizational structure and skill base to meet the needs of the geozone product line grouping in the short and longer-term  Inspires, influences and empowers employees across the matrix (both direct and indirect teams globally) to overachieve objectives Responsible for effective staff leadership, and performance management by setting objectives and driving appraisals and communication   Manage talent decisions towards linking critical roles to the value they need to generate Ensure that operational personnel meet product line competency standards and are in the correct positions for their skill sets Supervisors should collaborate with Human Resources & Training Development to drive strategies for the recruitment & retention of key personal & to foster an environment that supports the attraction & retention of a high performing talented workforce

VISION & LEADERSHIP 

Define Geozone Product Line strategy in collaboration with Global Product Line and Geozone Leadership. Ensures all applicable components of the Geozone and Global Product Line strategy are developed into a Geozone Product Line strategy and full executed across the Geozone Research and identify opportunities for new and emerging products and new technology Responsible and accountable for refining the above strategies within the Geozone and developing capabilities Define Product Line technology specific sales targets for the Geozone, in collaboration with the Geozone Sales Leader, via budgeting and local market strategy Communicate and drive technology deployment and technology budget priorities through functional reporting lines from Geozone technical Sales people Demonstrates leadership, ethical behavior and adherence to Weatherford standards at all times

 

Experience & Education

REQUIRED 

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline or equivalent experience 10+ years oil & gas industry experience (Offshore) 5+ years as Operations Manager, Service Delivery Manager, Product Line Manager or Technical Sales Manager

PREFERRED

Master's Degree (MBA) Integrated Services Projects Project Management

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

REQUIRED 

Must possess working knowledge of the Offshore P&A, Decommissioning and/or Late Life Well Management products and/or services and its applications/operations Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and projections Must be self-motivated & an effective team manager Ability to manage, develop, coach and mentor teams across organizational boundaries Must be able to make decisions and be able to identify and implement appropriate improvements Excellent leadership, strong interpersonal, negotiating, influencing and planning skills Knowledge of communications and public relation techniques. Ability to develop and deliver professional presentations Strong organizational and effective communication skills  Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and clients. Work effectively across a diverse multicultural multilingual community Familiarity with reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
