Area Director of Human Resources
Area Director of Human Resources in Grand Cayman Compensation: $125,000 to $160,000 per year, plus bonus, Full-Time Flexible based upon need

The successful applicant will be responsible for the staffing of qualified personnel, employment compliance including Labour Laws; oversight of wage, benefit, worker’s compensation and unemployment; training program direction, implementation and administration; and employee relations coaching, counseling and discipline within the specified Caribbean region. 

Direct and supervise all Human Resource staff. Prepare and maintain Human Resource budget. Maintain thorough and current knowledge of all Human Resources/Associate regulations, Labour laws within Caribbean area assigned, and ensure that properties are complying. Communicate new policies, information and directives to all Associates. Instruct staff on interpretation of HR policies and procedures and ensure compliance. Coordinate and monitor recruitment, screening, and reference check of all non-exempt personnel. Recruit, interview and recommend all exempt personnel where necessary.  Develop and monitor recruitment resources.  Set up, approve and maintain all wage and salary programs including performance evaluations. Work with property leadership to ensure competitive and fair compensation practices are in place.  Update and submit required reports. Monitor and analyze turnover statistics.  Develop, maintain and monitor training including orientation, and future advancement programs. Ensure Associate Opinion survey is completed by all. Administer all files including personnel, resumes and applications. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related fields or equal years of relevant experience. SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent HR certification preferred.  At least 7+ years of progressive Human Resource experience in a hotel with at least 3+ years in a Human Resource Director position, preferably in luxury hospitality with over 300+ employees. Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations within the Caribbean region, Cayman preferred. Attention to detail, polished work style, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and conflict resolution skills. Effective in handling problems in workplace, including anticipating, identifying, preventing and solving problems as necessary. Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams. Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Outlook a must. Must be able to understand financial information and data. Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving concerns and issues raised by co-workers and Guests.  Multi task and meet deadlines. Confident in public speaking.
