Area Manager - Operations & Maintenance

U.S. Steel is seeking a Facility Manager for its Wheeling Machine Products facility. The facility manufactures couplings for oil country tubular goods in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. This position will have leadership responsibility for the facility operations and maintenance activities and will report directly to the Head of Tubular Solutions for the U. S. Steel Tubular Segment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES:Leading and directing the safety culture and performance for the Organization.Leading and directing environmental compliance with adherence to air and water permit requirements, energy, and waste reduction.Leading and managing the operations: quality, productivity, delay rates, implementation of sound reliability maintenance efforts, supply inventory levels, quality compliance, delivery performance, etc.Develop annual business plans with accounting and other business partners.Leading and delivering profitable results; IFO, commitments for production and cost targets as defined in the Annual Operating Plan, ROI on capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives.Leading the Talent Management process to ensure that appropriate succession planning/workforce planning is conducted.Engaging wage employees to improve performance and identify opportunities for improvement.REQUIRED:Preferred candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Management, Industrial Technology, or related field. Minimum of 7 years work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Experience in the oil country tubular goods field, machine (threading) operations, or high-speed processing/automated manufacturing.Career history that demonstrates ability to advance in an organization.Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.Supervision and management of a unionized workforce is a plus.
