Area operations Manager –
The operations managers will oversee the day-to-day operational running of the area and report directly to the MITIE Account manager, they will also work closely with all MITIE officers and the clients Safety and Security Managers at each area location, on national level they will liaise with the UK Security & Loss Prevention Leader:
Role Purpose -
To provide our client with an enhanced service and deliver best standards across the region by ensuring all MITIE officers are working towards the highest standards set in the agreed SLA's, the Ops managers will also partner with the Clients Safety and Security Managers to ensure all officers understand the Clients Loss Prevention Strategy.
This will be achieved through actioning agreed plans to mitigate any potential losses and demonstrate retail control compliance by supporting, educating, and coaching all officers.
Identifying and supporting opportunities to reduce risk and loss across all stores on regional and national levels ensuring the delivery of the client's stock loss targets.
Key Responsibilities -
To efficiently and cost effectively manage and develop the contract portfolios. To manage and develop a professional and effective operational team, ensuring objectives are set, monitored and achieved and that all employees are appraised and have a personal development plan. Ensuring all incident reports are logged onto the MITIE Merlin X data base To carry out the day-to-day management of relevant employees including conduct, performance, welfare visits, attendance, Training and capability. Taking the necessary and appropriate actions to address any inappropriate behaviour or low standards, with support and advice from HR. Attend HR related courses to ensure competence in dealing with people management responsibilities. Develop a succession plan for all key roles within your team. To meet and/or exceed financial targets including but not limited to WIP, debt and GRN process. To set, monitor, evaluate and recommend budgetary adjustments. To build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations. Ensure that all, SLA's including the Company's set targets, are met for the portfolio. To provide management information/reporting as required To monitor and control supplier, sub-contractor and labour costs. To develop, communicate and implement Regional Strategy as agreed. Lead by example with regards to health and safety, compliance with statutory and contractual legislative requirements To understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time. To understand and comply with policies and procedures. To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner To comply with all QHSE policies and procedures To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required. Duty manager in rotation - once every 3 weeks. To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required Accountable for the delivery of the clients Loss Prevention Plan, identifies risk and helps to deliver robust action plans to reduce this risk through current and future activities. Use data and insights to identify trends and causes of loss across the business and respond to critical store or regional opportunities. Ensure that controls and measures in the plan are adequate to prevent risks to stock loss. Enables compliance with Health and Safety, legal and store process, and procedures within the retail function. Enable a clear focus on stock management routines and digital processes in line with the business growth areas. Provide operational guidance and coaching for our new store estate and new managers to the business. Support and contribute to the stock loss education programme, using a blended approach to training and education. Utilise a variety of communication channels to deliver a strong Asset Protection message. Keeps up to date with industry trends and the potential impact on the business, using this information to recommend and implement changes to the way the business operates. To deliver the Clients Loss Prevention Plan, driving high performance and engagement and role modelling the Clients and MITIES values. Undertake other duties from time to time as may be reasonably required. Form strong relationships/partnerships both within and outside of the Retail Team, to enable the Loss Plan priorities to be shared cross-functionally and to engage and enable other teams to understand and support the plan. Establish and facilitate effective cross-functional working, establishing, and maintaining communications and stakeholder plans. Able to work at and influence effectively at all levels in the organisation. Forward-looking with a holistic approach. Well-structured with strong analytical skills. Strong understanding of store operating practices and understanding of the stock journey throughout. Strong understanding of the Clients IWAY standards and One Audit compliance
