D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for anArea President of DHI Engineering. The right candidate will plan and directall aspects of the engineering activities and projects within the organization. Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives and processes are in conformance with organization’s established policies and objectives. Utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. Incorporates components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for all the engineering related operations for the division, including site investigations, design of site improvements and obtaining all necessary permits for civil development work to be completed Manage staff in support of the growth strategy for engineering services to be provided (i.e. CAD Designers/Drafters, E.I.T.’s, Professional Engineers, Administrators, etc.) Responsible for the preparation of reports summarizing physical site conditions, available utilities and overall feasibility for development projects and make recommendations to address site concerns during the preparation of a land plan Oversee the collection of due diligence and cost estimating data related to potential developments and supervise staff preparing proforma and initial development budgets Oversee the project engineers managing the overall engineering design and approval process on assigned projects Provide Quality Control review of project deliverables, engineering reports calculations, and design regulations criteria Responsible for bidding and hiring outside professional consultants as needed to support project workload and development schedules Manages overall engineering budget and costs Coordinate regularly with local DR Horton team, DHI Communities, and Forestar to prepare monthly and annual workload projections for the Engineering Division and to coordinate specific project priorities Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly managestwo or more employees in the OperationsDepartment. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
