District Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

The Area Sales Manager will manage a territory and lead a team of commercial and industrial focused sales people which meets its volume growth (balanced selling), cost and customer satisfaction objectives, through excellent external and internal customer relations and an increasing market share in the New England area. The Area Sales Manager is engaged in customer facing implementation of aggressive measures to achieve sales to C&I customers, systems and services in the assigned geography. He/she/they also ensures individual business unit sales targets are met or exceeded and that net margin maximizes profits within the geography. The individual participates in C&I planning and ensures that strategies are aligned with the district and regional C&I objectives, in conjunction with talent management and recruitment. This is a hybrid position, and can be based in either Bloomfield, CT or Quincy, MA. This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the United States. You will be mainly accountable for:•\tManaging a team of sales people and channel partners within the New England territory. Drive sales and growth within the territory. •\tIdentifying and evaluating new opportunities with existing and potential customers, determining plans for implementation, and allocating required resources.•\tPlanning and executing customer surveys and act on the survey results to ensure high level of customer satisfaction. •\tManaging top local accounts and being the escalation point on any commercial & industrial contractor customers as needed.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing or business administration or technical field strongly preferredMinimum 7 years related sales and account management experience within the electrical industry. Experience successfully leading and managing a team of salespeople (both internal and external) strongly preferredUnderstanding and experience with ABB Electrification products and services (including power distribution one-line and installation products)Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
