Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for achieving sales, display anddistribution objectives in their assigned territory of responsibility. Assigned territory will be as specificas a city, county, or as broad as a group of states. The ASM is responsible for all the distributors andretailers in their assigned territory. Area Sales Managers will report directly to their assigned Group SalesDirector, and indirectly to the Sr. Director of Sales.Responsibilities•Growing customer relationships to achieve targets.•Effectively manage assigned distributors and key retailers.•Perform area key account chain calls to support National Accounts.•Setting and achieving sales, distribution and display targets.•Meet with customers to address concerns and provide solutions.•Develop growth opportunities via syndicated and other data analysis.•Participate in industry or promotional events to cultivate customer relationships.•Monitor and report on competitive activity.•Coordinate activities between wholesalers and other team members.•Track wholesaler’s performance compared to plan on a monthly basis.•Develop and implement effective communication processes to ensure that wholesalers are well informed and aligned with initiatives.•Develop and implement local tactical marketing and merchandising programs focused against goals.•Conduct training in sales techniques and company product attributes.•Assess sales performance according to KPIs.•Wholesaler inventories.•Develop and conduct wholesaler and retailer education presentations.•Explain and implement business strategies and program initiatives.•Gain participation in the wholesaler’s monthly sales objectives (MBO) programs.•Prepare and provide wholesalers with presentations, sell-sheets and other sales tools to address and develop local opportunities
