Rain Bird, a global leader in irrigation solutions, is offering an exceptional opportunity for a driven and strategic individual to join our team as an Area Sales Manager – Golf. This position will play a pivotal role in expanding Rain Bird’s Golf sales across the UK, Ireland, and Iceland, operating within a fast-paced and dynamic European region.

 

Our European Golf sales team is focused on delivering solution-based sales, offering customized irrigation solutions to golf course owners, directors, and managers. You will collaborate with golf course architects, irrigation consultants, and contractors, utilizing our extensive distribution network.

 

The role is remote and requires frequent travel across the UK, Ireland, and Iceland of approximately 60% of your time visiting clients and partners and occasional travel outside the region may also be required.

Responsibilities Achieve and exceed ambitious sales targets for both products and services.Execute tactical actions to align with corporate objectives.Manage and develop relationships with assigned distribution partners.Proactively follow up on new irrigation and renovation project opportunities.Represent Rain Bird at key industry events to build relationships and market position.Foster long-term relationships with key golf course customers and industry stakeholders.Conduct regular site visits to identify potential business opportunities.Monitor and report on sales performance using CRM tools and Power BI.Collaborate effectively with the Regional Sales Manager, service teams, and other sales professionals to meet objectives. Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience.At least five years of experience in irrigation, the golf industry, or technical product sales, particularly sales through projects and distribution channels.Proven track record of achieving sales goals and demonstrating progressive responsibility.Ability to work independently and lead teams toward achieving results.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and influencing skills.Proficiency in personal computers and business software (Word, Excel, etc.).

Desired Qualifications:

MBA or relevant graduate degree.Proficiency in additional European languages.Familiarity with Rain Bird’s Golf irrigation products.Experience in establishing and developing distribution channels in the target area.
