What You'll Do

Maintain a balance of proactive and reactive selling, maintenance and growth of key accounts, and sales team development. Utilize your honed skills as a strategic sales and revenue leader within our organization. The goals of this position are centered on the achievement of total hotel room revenue, group bookings, food and beverage contribution, market share results, and sales training.

Some of your responsibilities include: Outside sales, prospecting, and cold calling. Answer faxes, memos, field requests, and inquiries. Visit other hotels to assess our competitors. Provide Regional DOSM and Director of Operations with a weekly schedule, monthly production reports, action plans, sales trip reports, etc. As assigned, attend and add to monthly meetings, and work on special projects. Work with individual and regional DOSM and other City Sales Managers to maintain strong communication and calibrated sales efforts from a city and national perspective. Be knowledgeable, support and communicate Home Office programs and initiatives. Work with key contacts to ensure that Kimpton has appropriate time and representation with decision makers while they are assigned city onsite inspections. Travel to key markets to meet with existing and new customers with upcoming Groups/Meetings into assigned city. Attend appropriate tradeshows and organizational meetings as the sales representative within the assigned city. Practice total account management by harvesting Group and Meetings business from all qualified accounts. Conduct local outside sales calls and site inspections of assigned Kimpton Hotels with potential and established accounts. Attend national tradeshows for networking and exposure purposes. Coordinate and conduct qualified FAM trips. Regularly communicate with the field regarding leads, trends, rates, and "need" dates. Maintain accurate and detailed notes/traces in Delphi and preferred account files. Follow-up with phone calls to thank clients for the business and to re-book for future years. Maintain focus on future booking pace from assigned accounts. Entertain clients, conduct sales and regular calls with established and potential accounts. Renegotiate future year contracts with emphasis on maximizing rates, revenue, and meeting space. Consistently anticipate new needs of our accounts to ensure we are evolving with our customers. Refer sister hotels in other Kimpton cities where the account may be conducting future business. Gather monthly activities and production of assigned account base to present to the General Managers and Directors of Sales in assigned city. What You Bring 1 to 3 years of sales experience. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of integrity. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized with the ability to sell a multi-faceted product mix. Detailed knowledge of regional Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants. Knowledge of the selling and negotiation processes and the designated markets of focus. Knowledge of CRM platform, Microsoft Office Suite and Delphi Systems.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $74,000. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

*This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
