Area Sales Manager

Emerson Controls and Software is an award-winning manufacturer of Industrial Automation software for HMI/SCADA, Analytics, and Industrial IIoT applications. The Movicon platform, developed in Italy and now sold worldwide, is one of the most modern Industrial Software platforms available today with 3D Graphics, Augmented Reality, and full mobile capability Machine HMI, Supervisory Control, and Plant Analytic Solutions. The business headquarter is in Modena (Progea Srl).

We are looking for a high performing, Software Sales Engineer to further grow the Emerson software business in North-West Italy Area; candidates preferred area of residence is Piedmont or Liguria. 

As an experienced Software Sales Engineer, will build the software solution selling strategies for your area including targeted OEMs, End Users, and Integrators. You’ll be encouraged to set up meetings with existing and potential customers within your assigned territory. You’ll listen to customer needs and then work with engineers and proposals specialist to build quotations of automation solutions. You will sell brand-new software solutions into an exciting variety of industries such as discrete manufacturing, water & wastewater, automotive, tunnels & metros, life sciences, chemicals, and oil & gas. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Acquire knowledge of the Emerson Software portfolio through training, and effectively communicate to customers the value and return on investment offered by these products.  Act as a trusted advisor to customers bringing the latest digital technologies to help them grow and improve their businesses.  Drive sales opportunities to closure in order to meet new order and sales targets  Creatively expand the list of target accounts, also identifying new niches of growth, with entrepreneurship.  Account planning and tactical execution.  Interacting with marketing, product managers, engineers, and supply chain to provide feedback on market, or customer, needs and dynamics.  Salesforce.com CRM based orders forecasting  Tactical planning for commercial and marketing activities.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a outside sales role, or a small business leadership role, preferably in industrial automation. Knowledge of HMI, Supervisory Control, and/or Plant Analytic software Proven understanding of automation systems for building automation, infrastructure, manufacturing, and/or machine automation. Technologies include IIoT, HMI/SCADA, OEE software and cloud/EDGE technologies Strong communication skills both verbally and written and natively proficient in Italian, good command of English language. The central office location is in Modena, Italy, however the role requires a very high percentage of time to be spent visiting customers, so home-based locations in Italy will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Previous role as Application Engineer (or Solution Architect) preferred. Sales experience in adjacent industries (mechatronics / robotics / information & operations technology / industrial or manufacturing software / MES & MIS / cloud computing / instrumentation)
