AREA SALES MANAGER LATAM CENTRAL AMERICA - TRAVEL RETAIL

 


Position purpose:  

 

The incumbent, working very closely with the Regional Sales Manager Americas TR (RSM), Consumer Activation Manager (CAM), Finance Manager and Global Travel functions, will be accountable for all the aspects of territory management and commercial deployment for the Belize Free Zone channel plus the Mexico Ship Handling, Seaports, Borders TR channels in addition with any other TR channels; will be in charge to find and develop (i.e., Military, Diplomatic, Airlines...); will establish very close relationships with the Travel Retail Operators in order to lead the implementation of consumer & trace marketing programs and managing operational commercial activities.

 

What will you do – responsibilities: ​​

 

OPERATIONAL: Responsible for the effective execution of sales, distribution, and through-the-line marketing strategies, including merchandising, shelf-space optimization, and promotional programs, as outlined by the central and regional Marketing & Sales teams. Continuously supervises the implementation process, ensuring the materials' quality, and recommends corrective actions when needed. Responsible for territory management and making field force deployment decisions to drive optimal performance; CHANNEL STRATEGY: Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Channel Strategy for each of the existing and new channels to be found and for all relevant existing and potential businesses in the market. This includes creating Account Plans for existing and new customers, focusing on pricing strategy, promotional activities, and portfolio management - i.e. find which operators operate currently in the ship handling, seaport and borders channels and define an adequate price strategy to enter those channels; look for new opportunities: potential new operators/customers to partner with in aforementioned channels and other available TR channels, with a clear view of requirements in terms of regulation, taxation, pricing and/or portfolio;

ANNUAL BUSINESS PLAN AND REVIEWS: Responsible for developing, aligning (internally and with customers/distributors) and driving the ASPs and LEs plans. The plan includes: Historical data analysis and SWOT analysis for the market; Budgeted and prioritized strategic initiatives; Annual plan covering investment, volume, pricing and profit objectives; Relationship management objectives; Portfolio analysis to identify brand assortment opportunities;

DATA GATHERING & REPORTING: Responsible for gathering and reporting the following data: I-sales, Integrated Management System (IMS), order deliveries, stock, and program results. Responsible for collecting public Recommended Retail Sales Prices (RRSP) and passing them to the GTR Data Management team. Ensure reports are compiled monthly and analyze performance against KPIs. Produce detailed reports and recommendations to enable JTI and customers to evaluate performance and take vital actions for improvement;

COLLABORATION WITH DOMESTIC MARKETS
Responsible for developing strong working relationships with JTI Mexico Domestic market. Exchange relevant information and stay updated on local market insights and business developments to further align GTR efforts with JTI’s domestic plans.


Who are we looking for – requirements: 

 

University degree or equivalent is preferable; 5 years experience in sales & distribution/channel management/field trade marketing. Experience in consumer/trade promotions management; Fluent written and spoken English & Spanish are required; Availability to travel to the north part of Mexico and Belize;
