Purpose and role
The Area Supplier Quality Head is the team leader of the Supplier Quality Management (SQM) team located in China. In this role, the person will drive supplier development and continuous improvement in the China. Also, the role will drive Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) for suppliers’ issues claimed by various sources such as Customer, Frontline, Kone Factories, and Supplier factories. Be the contact point for local HR and relevant administrative activities: employee engagement (Pulse), recruitment, performance management, coaching/mentoring, and competence development.Monitor supplier Quality performances, and KPIs for the suppliers in the respective Area (See 3 for KPIs list)Be the supplier quality contact point with the Area feedback team: feedback reviews, agreed CAPA on critical issuesReview SQM CAPA process, to guarantee proper CAPA practices such as 5 Why, fishbones, DMAICSupplier Quality issues cost impact, reporting to procurement manager and make sure that proper refund to Kone will be doneRecord and share the Lessons to Learned on Critical issues: Lessons to learned in terms of ways of working and process improvementsDriving Supplier maturity development and continual improvement at suppliers located in the respective AreaSupplier Maturity process implementation.Supplier-related Lean and 6-Sigma projectsOrganize regular audits of existing suppliers to assess compliance with quality standards. Identify areas for improvement and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions. Monitor and report on supplier performance metricsEnsure suppliers are certified with applicable quality standards and regulatory local requirements (Safety, Environmental, etc.)Driving the support needed at Area Frontline: Emergency / Escalation case, Supplier & SQM to join Frontline site for investigationCoordinate necessary activities when verification/assessments are needed at supplier manufacturing sites in the respective Area.Supporting procurement in new supplier Scouting in the respective area, in RFQ / RFI phasePerformance measures
