Army Reserve Employment Specialist

Summary: As an Army Reserve Employment Specialist supporting the Private Public Partnership Office (P3O), you will play a crucial role in supporting the career development and transition process for Army Reserve soldiers. You will work closely with soldiers to identify their skills, interests, and career goals, and assist them in finding suitable civilian employment opportunities. This role requires a combination of military knowledge, counseling skills, and an understanding of the civilian job market. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Assist with providing readiness support services for all eligible USAR Soldiers and dependent Family members at events such as, but not limited it; Family outreach, employer outreach and education, networking events, Yellow Ribbon employment support, Warrior Training Unit activities, Post Deployment Health Reassessment Program briefs, Leadership Development and Assessment Course, Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) outreach through informational meetings, transition assistance outreach, and conduct unit outreach. Provide personalized career counseling to Army Reserve soldiers, assisting them in understanding their transferable skills, career options, and potential civilian employment opportunities. Support soldiers who are transitioning from active duty to the civilian workforce, providing resources, information, and guidance to facilitate a smooth transition. Shall maintain active communication with private sector partners in their individual areas of responsibility and coordinate with P3O for validation and approval of potential partnerships. Shall provide assistance with the management, oversight, guidance, and support of P3O programs in the furtherance of developing a private sector partners. Must maintain from NE-SSME will keep an active list of private sector partners to include POC information and current initiatives, programs and projects that help support P3O’s mission, strategic goals, and objectives. Shall ensure the list is readily available to P3O staff. Provide monthly report that indicates outreach efforts with P3O industry partners. Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Must possess demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in customer service skills, use of routine office equipment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.), and web-based applications. Excellent interpersonal and counseling skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to soldiers navigating the transition from military to civilian employment. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and evolving program requirements, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field from a college or university that is accredited by a national or regional agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Ability to successfully pass a background investigation. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience serving in the Army Reserve or a similar military branch is highly preferred, with a strong understanding of military culture, structure, and operations.
