We have an exciting opportunity for a **Artemis EVA Systems Manager** to join the team!
The **Artemis EVA Systems Manager** will:
+ Support the HLS SEI Surface Mission Segment Lead and the CrewCo Technical Integration Manager(s)
+ Serves as subject matter hardware expert for HLS vehicle EVA equipment and interface requirements; supports requirements, design, safety, and flight readiness reviews. Reviews designs and verifications of EVA equipment and interfaces to ensure vehicle operability. Verifies hazards are controlled and fault-tolerance is achieved. Identifies and reports risks and mitigation options to the program.
+ Leads teams of engineers and technicians in conducting engineering insight activities for vehicle EVA equipment and interfaces.
+ Conducts design assessments and determines if extravehicular activity (EVA) mission requirements have been met. Identifies and analyzes gaps between EVA systems and other mission systems. Supports HLS program decisions to resolve conflicts involving the EVA System.
+ Provides subject matter expertise and coordination with subject matter experts for EVA equipment and interfaces at vehicle milestone reviews and on an as-needed basis.
+ Supports program and provider meetings, vehicle provider testing for key EVA verifications, and integrated testing in conjunction with the EVAS provider/insight team
+ Serving as the HLS POC for joint verifications involving the use of EHP hardware in the HLS vehicle (including flowing HLS requirement to the Chamber B build-up)
+ Serves as Technical Point of Contact Stakeholder as appropriate for DVO/VE reviews
+ Serves as the Crew Compartment representative to the HLS-EHP IPT and other related discussions and activities (pulling in POCs as needed within CrewCo, SVS, SEI)
+ Serves as the Crew Compartment representative at the Joint Safety Review Panel and leads the joint hazard review activities pulling in POCs as needed within CrewCo, SVS, SEI
**Requisition Qualifications:**
This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
+ Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and normally possess 5 - 10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.
+ Strong knowledge of extravehicular activity and space suits and the ability to use lessons learned from historical EVA and vehicle systems (background in)
+ Background in systems engineering, project engineering, design engineering, or mission operations
+ Demonstrated history of understanding complex systems such as those under development for Artemis missions
+ Strong interpersonal and written communication skills such as speaking with and presenting to NASA programs, control boards, suit vendor teams, and vehicle vendor teams
+ Strong history of reviewing technical documentation and providing meaningful feedback
**Requisition Preferences:**
+ The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work independently to identify issues, prioritize responsibilities, and establish relationships with personnel on NASA teams, suit vendor teams, and vehicle vendor teams
+ 5+ years of human spaceflight experience including 2+ years of direct experience with extravehicular activity equipment, extravehicular systems and/or space suits

**Essential Functions**
**Work Environment**
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
**Physical Requirements**
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
**Equipment and Machines**
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
**Attendance**
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
