The Administrative Support Associate’s V/ Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) role is to perform customer service, clerical and reception duties that support the work flow of the unit, nursing station and the delivery of patient care. The clerical activities include ensuring accurate preparation, processing and standardization of the patient record, and utilization of clinical information systems. The customer service role includes effective communication with patients, significant others, and members of the health care team. The ASA V/HUC will be able to meet the needs of all units within the Patient Care Service assigned as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrate professional business etiquetteInitiate communication with all that enters the unitCoordinate department communications, relaying patient and health care member requests to other members of the Patient Care TeamPrepare documents in the Windows operating systemUtilize clinical information systems: Invision, Soarian, Cerner/Bridge, etc. to support the delivery of patient careDemonstrate computer skillsPrepare/maintain patient care record for use by patient care teamTranscribe orders of the patient record/electronic health care recordAssemble/manage unit recordsDevelop reports and data necessary for unit operationsMaintain adequate supplies of current forms, unit supplies and equipmentAssist in the implementation of specialized projectsCoordinate office functionResponsible for maintenance of a clean unit environmentResponsible for unit station work flowRespond to the individual needs of patient/family as appropriate to the age and special characteristics of the patient group served


Hourly Rate: $18.36 - $23.78
