Rochester Regional Health is dedicated to providing outstanding experiences to nursing students in the Rochester area. As an EXCEL Nurse Intern,you will work as a patient care technician, side by side with an experienced nurse, to put the skills, knowledge and lessons you’ve learned into practice.

The internship provides nursing students with vital experience that will enhance the remainder of their college education and assist in their transition into the nursing profession.

SCHEDULE: Based on preceptor’s schedule and may include rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays

RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Care & Service: Provide direct patient care & indirect activities to facilitate unit functioning; provide safe and competent care for patients with relationship to nutrition, skin integrity, elimination & hygiene needs; take patient vital signs; ensure equipment and all facilities are clean and stocked with appropriate suppliesAdmission & Transfer of Patients: Assist with admission, discharge and transfer of patients

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
