The Programmer is responsible for analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Web Team.
Complete Description:
This position is for the BWC Core Direction project. BWC is currently operating in an environment with limited to moderate automated functionality and data access. Many business processes have manual or system (e.g., Excel, Access, etc.) workarounds. Multiple applications are used to support single processes. Lack of data, when and where needed, lack of integration between existing legacy applications and implementation of business process change regardless of application support drive many of the workarounds. A portion of correspondence is manually generated and custom letter databases exist throughout BWC. Multiple processes utilize the same workarounds. Claims processes are the most mature, followed by billing processes with policy processes being the least mature.
These resources will be on the Web Systems Development Team. He/She will be working with a variety of technologies and service offerings on our web and application servers. She/He will be working with a collaborative team of web developers, tasked to create and support all web offerings on BWC’s external and internal web sites. The candidate must have proven expertise in the development and modification of web application systems , and in .NET Web Services. He/She will work with a team lead on all projects, and provide a status daily in stand-up team meetings with manager. The candidate will be asked to utilize a number of database environments from SQL Server to Oracle to DB2. He/She should be a good problem solver, as they will be tasked to work on Production trouble tickets on a tri-monthly basis, as well as keep up with their project workload.
Required Experience:
•ASP, ASP.Net, VB.Net, C#.Net: 6 to 7 yrs experience.
•MS.Net Frameworks 2.0, 3.5, 4.0: 6 to 7 yrs experience.
•MS.Net Web Services (SOAP/WSDL protocols, ASMX): 6 to 7 yrs experience.
•RDBMS (i.e., Oracle, DB2, SQL Server): 6 to 7 yrs experience.
•ADO.NET: minimum of 4 yrs experience.
•Javascript: minimum of 6 yrs experience.
•LINQ: minimum 2 yrs experience.
•AJAX: minimum 4 yrs experience.
•JQuery: minimum 2 yrs experience.
•Team Foundation Server: minimum 2 yrs experience.
Additional Skill/Knowledge/Experience advantageous to this placement:
•Knowledge of insurance systems.
•Knowledge of Ohio BWC.
•Experience developing services or developing applications built with services oriented architecture (SOA).
