This role involves assisting with asphalt paving and milling operations, ensuring quality and safety on the job site. The ideal candidate should be a team player with a strong commitment to safety and a willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities + Assist in the setup and operation of milling equipment during road resurfacing projects. + Help in the preparation of job sites by clearing debris and ensuring a clean work environment. + Monitor milling depth and adjust equipment as needed to achieve desired specifications. + Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for milling and paving operations. + Operate hand tools and small equipment safely, including saws, grinders, and compactors. + Collaborate with the paving crew to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results. + Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment. + Perform routine maintenance and checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality. + Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent preferred. + Previous experience in construction, paving, or milling preferred but not required. + Ability to operate basic construction tools and equipment. + Strong physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs). + Basic knowledge of safety practices in construction environments. + Excellent teamwork and communication skills. + Willingness to work in various weather conditions and flexible hours.
