Job Description

  

Teledyne Relays (a business unit of Teledyne Defense Electronics, LLC) is a manufacturer of Electromechanical Relays, Solid State Relays, Power Controllers, RF COAX Switches and RF Matrix switching systems. The primary manufacturing facilities are located in the United States and Mexico. We are a vertically orientated manufacturing and design company with major operations in Southern California.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

Setup and operate automatic and/or manual bonding machines that bond gold and aluminum wire to integrated circuit dies to connect circuitry to package leads

Perform capillary change

Operate a variety of other related equipment, including high-powered microscopes, Dage wire pull and die shear equipment with speed and accuracy

Operate cleaning and bake equipment to prepare production lots for the wire bonding process

Will work in a cleanroom environment observing ESD precautions at all times

The operator follows job traveler instructions and documents records accurately

Identifies and reports process deviations to the supervisor

May perform a wide variety of other assembly operations such as touch-up, hand solder, die attach, substrate attach and clip attach as assigned once trained and workmanship is verified

Determined method and sequence of assembly following the process, procedures, layouts provided on Solid State Relays

Perform rework and other duties as assigned and requested

Acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks, requiring limited judgment, under close Supervision, with little or no role in decision-making but will receive detailed instructions on all work

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required

Knowledge of basic math addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

At least six (6) months to one (1) year of previous/related experience and/or training with ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one or small group situation

Related experience is preferred, but training is available

Must be able to use small hand tools such as soldering irons, microscope, tweezers, wire strippers, crimpers and other equipment for forming and trimming leads

Must have basic computer knowledge (mouse, keyboard use)

Have the ability to learn and train on all phases of process and procedures, complete paperwork, write short correspondence or memos

Must have eye and hand coordination abilities

Be able to read and comprehend specifications/drawings/instructions provided, and apply common sense understanding to carry out one or two step instructions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop/bend, push/pull, be able to lift or carry up to 10lbs; will frequently need to sit, hear for instructions or feedback, and will continuously need to use hands to handle or feel.

VISION REQUIREMENTS: will need to be able to determine close vision, be able to distinguish colors, have peripheral vision, and determine depth perception

WORK ENVIRONMENT: will occasionally need to work near moving mechanical parts, and/or be in contact with moving mechanical equipment. Noise level is quiet.

Salary Range:

$35,090.00-$46,970.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
