Job Description

At KLA we design, develop, and manufacture high-tech capital equipment for the global semiconductor industry. In this role you’ll be working in our high performing manufacturing team to build and assemble our complex processing equipment.

Based at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Newport, South Wales this role presents the opportunity to work with innovative technology and learn precision automated manufacturing processes!

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Visual inspection using a microscope (20x magnification) for dies, resistors, capacitors to ensure parts meet specifications.Manual soldering small electronic components (using a microscope) onto Printed Circuit Board (resistors, capacitors, dies).Handle or attach small components (die, capacitors, resistors) using tweezers and in house build fixture.Performing visual inspection IQC (incoming quality inspection)/OQC (outgoing quality inspection) on raw parts (flex, PCBA, silicon substrate).Operating fixturing/tooling or hand-held electronic equipment (Voltmeter, Caliper, Oscilloscope) to test cable assembly or electronic assembly boxes.Handling dilute chemical solutions (IPA, DI water, Acetone, epoxy) to clean products.

Your experience & qualifications

Ideally hold A-level or NVQ level qualification(s).Preferably have some experience in electronic assembly and soldering, however full role training provided.  Able to read assembly drawings, instructions, and basic blueprints. Ideally have experience in a manufacturing and/or shop-floor environment.Can demonstrate good attention to detail to allow you to maintain our high level of production standards and efficiency.Has good analytical skills with a logical approach to problem solving.Experience with MS Office products.

This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday. Some international travel will be required for role related training. There may occasionally be the need to work on a shift basis due to business requirements.
