Overview Unpacks, segregates, tests (accuracy and insulation), calibrates, reconditions, repairs, seals and packs single phase self‑contained watthour meters equipped with straight, demand, Time‑of‑Use, and load profile registers and records test results and work performed. Responsibilities 1. Unpacks, segregates meters by number or bar code, and verifies the data entered by field forces and/or computer. 2. Inspects, reconditions, cleans, retires (as required), seals and packs meters; and selectively salvages parts and covers. 3. Selects correct voltage, current and test constants on watthour meter comparator and performs "As Found" and "As Left" tests and calibrates as required. 4. Inspects watthour meters for proper mechanical and electrical operation and checks for current diversion. 5. Performs phase‑to‑phase and phase‑to‑ground insulation tests. 6. Repairs watthour meters and maintains stock of repair parts in appropriate area. 7. Performs associated record and clerical functions including the corrections and/or clarification of data entered by field forces and/or computer, the recording of test accuracies and the replacement parts used and the work performed. 8. Unseals polyphase meters, checks shop test slips, cleans meter and cover, regaskets cover and identifies current diversion or complaint meters. 9. Fabricates wiring harnesses for meters. 10. Performs such other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Qualifications High School Diploma High School Diploma 1.
