Title: CONVERTING ASSEMBLER/PACKER I

 

This position requires you to understand the Companies Strategic Pillars and Core Values and work in a manner that aligns with them. Assembler/packers must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

You must understand and assure all safety devices are on the machine and functioning. Follow all safety rules and procedures to work in a safe manner while performing the following;

This is an entry level position reporting to the shift Lead, Supervisor and/or Process Specialist. Requiring adequate performance running shape machines making simple seal products, cut out products or unprinted products. This position also includes and 2nd operation machines and packing.

At this level you will be required to correctly fill out paper work which includes: add, subtract, and divide or multiple production numbers. Assembler/packers must keep a running tally of product produces and assure you are running at or above the rate with minimum scrap. Must be able to read English to determine the correct materials, cartons and labels are being used.

Have proven skills to reset the eye, move the material to the eye, adjust the roll of material to the right or the left on unfolded and folded rolls of material, and adjust the trim blades. You must have proven skills to determine the products meets or exceeds specification on the template.

Must actively participate in one or more Team based programs such as 5S, AIB, Continuous Improvement or SMED. Assembler/packers must understand and keep up with our housekeeping standards.

The position requires assembler/packer’s to stand/sit up to 8 hours. Position requires repetitive reaching and grasping up to 90% of the day with both hands. Carrying short distance up to 35 pounds approximately 20% of the time. Bending, twisting and walking about 20% of the day. Fine motor skills are often part of the tasks required, up to 90% of the times. The use of small hand tools such as allen keys, pliers or wrenches less than 10% of the day.

The position does not require overhead, climbing ladders or lifting over 35 #.
