MRO induction & Assembler / Tester POSITION SUMMARY: The position is responsible for the comprehensive intake, inspection, documentation, and preparation of components and assemblies entering the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) process. This role ensures strict adherence to regulatory and company compliance standards for all incoming units prior to their distribution to repair station. Serving as a pivotal point in the MRO workflow, the technician facilitates efficient operations and minimizes processing delays. In addition to MRO induction duties, the technician proficiently assembles and tests a range of moderate to semi-complex products, consistently meeting customer quality expectations and delivery timelines. Responsibilities may include lock wiring and final detailing tasks. The work primarily involves products with predominantly mechanical components, supplemented by electrical elements, including single and some dual hydraulic systems across multiple product families. The individual actively participates in lean manufacturing initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing operational costs. This role operates with limited supervisory oversight, requiring an autonomy and accountability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: + Unit Receipt & Inspection: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming units, components, and assemblies for damage, completeness, and compliance with specifications and documentation. Maintain accurate records and report discrepancies. + Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to company, regulatory, and safety standards throughout the induction process. Accurately document serial numbers, part numbers, maintenance history, CWI and advisory notes. + Assembly & Testing: Perform moderate to semi-complex assembly, testing, and diagnostic functions using mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, and fixtures. Set up and calibrate test stands for hydraulic, and fuel systems, conduct tests, interpret data, troubleshoot malfunctions, and perform repairs. + Technical Interpretation: Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, and quality directives to ensure product conformance. + Continuous Improvement & Collaboration: Support lean initiatives to improve workflow and reduce turnaround times. Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers, interface with manufacturing engineering and support staff, and assist in training less experienced personnel. + Safety & Equipment Maintenance: Maintain a safe, FOD-free work environment. Ensure all equipment is calibrated and functioning according to schedules. + Additional Duties: Perform other related responsibilities as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: + Experience: Two or more years industry related experience in assembly/test in a manufacturing or similar environment, MRO experience preferred. + Technical Skills: Ability to receive and inspect incoming units and assemblies; understanding of semi-complex products involving electronics, dual systems, and multiple part families. Proficient in setting up test fixtures and adapting procedures to varied assignments. + Problem Solving: Capable of researching and resolving complex repair issues by analyzing multiple variables to restore products to serviceable condition. + Autonomy & Adaptability: Able to work with limited supervision and adapt to new techniques and processes. + Communication & Teamwork: Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Able to work collaboratively in a team environment and assist in training others. + Computer & Analytical Skills: Competent in performing mathematical calculations, interpreting reports, and using standard business software and specialized automated systems (e.g., TORS, RCARD, ENOVIA, email). + Certifications: May require specialized certifications such as FAA repair license, certified operator, or soldering certification depending on division requirements. + Professional Development: Demonstrates team competencies, participates in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
