Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an Assembly Technician to join their team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be part of the production department supporting the assembly team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Assembly Technician
**Location:** Elkhart, IN
**Pay Range:** $18.00 per hour
**What's the Job?**
+ Build axles through various processes including feeding, stripping, hand twisting, crimping, and heat shrinking wires.
+ Fasten brakes using an impact wrench and install hubs by clipping wires and torquing nuts.
+ Place clips and test brakes on spindle nut runner, ensuring all components are secure and functional.
+ Move axles to the staging area using a forklift and other material handling equipment.
+ Verify shop orders and paint certification marks, ensuring accuracy in production.
**What's Needed?**
+ Experience with hand tools such as grease guns, torque setters, and impact guns is a plus.
+ Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, reaching, and balancing.
+ Strong grasping, pinching, and fine manipulation skills are essential for the role.
+ Willingness to occasionally bend and squat as needed during assembly tasks.
+ A proactive attitude and a commitment to quality and safety in the workplace.
