PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grade Level                                                                                                                

One Machine Skill

L1        1.         Trainee - Entry Level – 90-day probation beginning on start                

                        date and have working knowledge of English language.  Able

                        to lift 10-20 lbs. frequently and 20-40 lbs. occasionally.  Pass

                        forklift operator examines.  Must learn how to observe safety

                         procedure in Plating Room (Handling of chemicals, use of PPE,

                        use of SDS, safe operation of power equipment.)

            2.         Must know how to prepare chemical and observe chemical

                          addition schedule.
            

            3.         Learn preventive maintenance schedule of his own equipment.             

Two Machine Skill (20-913)

L2        1.         Must have the skill to operate one of any combination of two  

                        machines.  Be able to maintain the standard output (quality, and

                        quantity), observe proper safety procedure.

            2.         Learn the preventive maintenance schedule of equipment.                   

Three Machine Skill (20-913)

L3        1.         Must be skillful in operating any combination of three machines.           

                        Must observe safety procedure required in operating machines.

                        Must be able to maintain the standard output (quality, and

                        quantity).

            2.         Must know the preventive maintenance schedule of equipment.           

Four Machine Skill (20-925)

L4        1.         Must be skillful in running any machine as directed.  Must                  

                        have a thorough knowledge of waste treating equipment and

                         instrumentation.  Be able to trouble shoot and process

                        control.  Make sure the quality of effluent water is within

                        limits set by the TRA or TCEQ before disposal to the city

                        sewer.

            2.         Must be able to run atomic absorption unit in the absence of  

                        the laboratory technician.  Act as the lead in the Plating Room.

                        Must be a Four Machine Skill level for one (1) year.
