We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer-Assembly to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.
Your Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Process Engineer is to coordinate, support, and monitor assembly manufacturing processes and will be responsible for working collaboratively with shop personnel and project teams. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be investigating and analyzing highly technical manufacturing issues and assisting in creating or revising associated procedures and methods. Position requires exceptional communication skills to interpret business needs and gather all the necessary supporting information needed to continuously improve techniques, training, and processes, while applying engineering expertise.

Your Challenge:
Collaborate closely with shop personnel to identify and implement assembly process improvements
Identify and design tooling and fixtures to enable safe and efficient assembly of small and large
parts/assemblies
Investigate and analyze highly technical manufacturing issues and assist in establishing
procedures and methods
Recommend and procure tooling for various assembly operations e.g., heat shrinks, bolted joints, close-tolerance assemblies, etc.
Develop quotations for fixtures and assembly of large parts across multiple product lines
Ability to apply software specific to role: Oracle and a CAD software (e.g., Solid Edge, MS office
and Teamcenter).
Participate in Kaizen Events, Process Mapping and Project Readiness reviews
Identify new and/or improved processes for reducing rework, cycle-time, and costs for assigned projects
Review assembly Non-Conformances and give recommendations on preventing recurrences
Develop standard work instructions for assembly processes
Understand and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing concepts.
Provide Shop support for assigned projects
What you Bring:
BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
2 + of experience modeling of fixtures, assemblies or components using a
CAD system
Blueprint reading, particularly involving GD&T per ASME Y14.5M
Experience working with commercial nuclear and/or military quality systems
Ability to drive change and improvements within an organization
Experience with manufacturing processes, such as machining, welding, winding, or assembly
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail and learning agility
Professionalism and commitment to quality, customer service, and continuous improvement
Ability to tolerate and drive change
