Assembly Mechanics are responsible for assembling and repairing parts and assemblies to prepare completion of the truck.
Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications.Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.Align and fit structural assemblies manually, or use cranes as necessary to position assemblies for joining.Set and verify parts clearances.Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies.Read and interpret assembly blueprints, schematics, and specifications manuals, and plan assembly or building operations.Hydraulic Mechanics are responsible for following blueprints to cut holes for hydraulic hosing as well as install and hook up hydraulic hoses.
Assemble hydraulic systems and support structures; and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casings, using rivets and bolts.Maintain and lubricate parts and components.Verify conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints.Fasten and install piping, fixtures, or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies.Cross train in other areas including electrical, hydraulics, and weldingWelder Mechanics are responsible for using plasma cutters and welding machinery to cut the chassis to specification, mount outriggers or chassis, and install bumpers/hitches onto trucks.
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits. Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. Operate manual welding equipment to fuse steel segments, using mig welding process.Work Experience

Experience in inspecting, operating, and testing completed productsPrior automotive mechanical experience is required to perform this job.Experience in positioning and aligning components for assemblyExperience in setting and verifying parts clearancesExperience in reworking, repairing, and replacing damaged parts or assembliesExperience in maintaining and lubricating parts and componentsHave overhead crane, hand bandsaw, jigsaw experienceMechanical abilities, ability to read and interpret blueprints.Must have:
