OVERVIEW: The Assembly Technician plays an important role on the Corvette ZO6 GT3 Assembly Team, contributing to responsibilities at both the shop and track environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS: Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Vehicle Preparation
· Build and prepare vehicles prior to each event, ensuring all tasks are completed according to the build sheet.
· Construct subassemblies using detailed specifications and drawings.
· Collaborate with the Build Manager and Engineers to prioritize vehicle reliability and performance development.
· Assemble cars in accordance with drawings and engineering specifications.
· Apply refined practices and thorough understanding of all vehicle subsystems and assemblies.
Trackside Execution
· Ensure the car is properly prepared for all phases of each event:
o Vehicle service and preparation
o Event-related tasks such as setup and teardown
Shop Execution
· Maintain organization and cleanliness of work area.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required.
· Support Pratt Miller initiatives, marketing events, and general development activities.
· Provide feedback on product needs and process efficiencies.
· Collaborate with the Build Manager, Engineers, and Operations Manager to ensure consistent vehicle preparation.
· Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
· Continuously seek to improve technical skills and understanding of vehicle systems.
· Identify and communicate issues to the Supervisor or Operations Manager for resolution.
· Participate in team-wide event setup, teardown, and shop activities.
· Travel may be required.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
· Preferred motorsports experience with focus on mechanical vehicle preparation, car development, and event execution.
· SAE Certification preferred.
· Experience with automotive repair.
· Background in working collaboratively within a small team to meet program goals and drive continuous improvement.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Periodic exposure to stress.
· Regular physical labor involved.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
· Extended hours may occasionally be required.
