Assembly Technician
The Assembly Technician conducts basic assembly, and installation of truck and trailer mounted equipment. They will perform basic repetitive assembly and install of tooling, equipment, and process management. This role provides collaboration for the service department team to achieve customer satisfaction for services rendered. KEY OBJECTIVES Other duties beyond this representative listing may be assigned to the essential job duties and responsibilities of this position based on Company needs. Essential Job Functions • Reads job orders, plans work procedures and documents work performed with accuracy and timeliness. • Installs and troubleshoots basic 12VDC electrical components with minimal assistance. • Preforms Class 1-8 vehicle equipment installations with minimal supervision. • Under minimal supervision, installs components with consistency and inspects critical fittings in the assembly process. • Reviews assembly work to ensure a defective free assembly prior to final quality control inspection. • Advises customer and/or service writer of any repairs or services which should be performed within the next 3 months. • Tags all warranty parts and returns and sends them to the warranty department. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. It is required that the individual is accurate with good time management and organizational skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience • High school diploma or GED preferred. • Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Experienced in the proper and safe use of hand and air operated tools. • Must pass a 2G MIG weld test, as defined by the State of Oklahoma; including vertical, horizontal and overhead applications and procedures to ensure integrity. Other Skills and Abilities Required • Possess a basic understanding of the operation and use of a MIG welder and a cutting torch. • Clean and maintains an orderly stall and general work areas. • Maintains safe work environment. • Assists with responding to customer inquiries regarding the work performed. • Problem-solving skills. • Time management skills. • Manual dexterity.
