ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN I

 

Duties & Responsibilities:  

 

Under the supervision of the Cluster Leader, the assembly technician shall:

1.     Perform disassembly, and assembly and test operations

2.     Utilize a variety of mechanical measuring equipment

3.     Assure proper assembly build requirements by utilizing torque wrenches, assembly fixtures, toolings, gages, and other various types of hand tools

4.     Maintain tools, fixtures, and equipment upkeep for availability and functionality on a regular basis

5.     Work on hydraulic stands in setting-up torque motors and similar assemblies that utilize test equipments to test electrical characteristics and performance of assemblies

6.     Perform soldering and crimping of electrical components per approved standards (e.g. military)

7.     Work on repair units normally run under established production program

8.     Work in coordination with Cluster Leader and the Product Engineering in the innovation, try-out, and formalization of improved assembly procedures and route sequence of product lines within his/her expertise

9.     Interact closely with test technicians and support groups for process based trouble shooting

10. Solve problem on proactive mode as a member of the team and continuously seeks improvements on various processes and standards and utilize a wide variety of manufacturing tools (ie. 5S, Lean concept, 6 sigma and other improvement tools applicable).

 

This role will require someone who has a great focus on quality and can demonstrate a Zero-Defect Mindset where he/she will commit to do things right the first time, every time; creating a work environment where nearly right and good enough are not acceptable.

 

Minimum Qualification Requirements:  

 

Education and Experience:

Graduate of Eng'g Course (ME / ECE /EE/ IE) + CMCDC 2. Graduate of 3 yr. Technical Course (Mech Tech/ Mechatronics) 3. Completed at least 3 yrs Eng'g Related + CMCDC 4. HS Grad - 2.5 years experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly/repair

Minimum Skills and Knowledge:

Manual dexterity in handling critical components. Usage of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. Ability to use varied forms of hand tools and assembly fixtures. Ability to handle electrical measuring instruments and perform soldering operations per military standards.

 

 Physical Demand: Light to medium
