Assembly Test Technician

Eaton’s CPDI OPS Operations division is currently seeking a Assembly Test Technician. At our Raleigh, NC location they engineer, manufacturer, and ship prodcuts related to electrical power distribution to 6 different segments. Some of those include Utilties, Institutions, Aerospace, and Residential. The Assembler I role offers a 40-hour paid work week with hours being 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday. WIth full time employment you are offered Benefits (Medical, Dental, & Vision), 401K percent match plan, and vacation.​ The Custom Assembler II will build custom assemblies, units and gear involving complex and repetitive wiring for Uniteruptilble Power Systems (UPS).

The hourly rate for this position is $19.43 per hour.

What you’ll do:

The Electrical Test Assembler II will build sub-assemblies and assemblies involving complex and repetitive wiring for Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS).  
 
In this role:  

Performs Lockout & Tag-out to install and tear-out equipment and units supporting test schedulesPrep Units for test by installing input, output, and battery cablesMove, Install, and tear-out UPS Electrical UnitsMaterial Handling utilizing forklifts, electric pallet jacks, etc.Installs and tear-out switch hear using one-line diagramsPerform heavy work including cable installation and removal (max of 50-lbs)Assist in test maintenance as requiredFlex to perform assembly, complex and repetitive wiring, and/or UPS operation to complete final assembly of the product.Qualifications:

 Required (Basic): 

•    A minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing or electrical field.
•    Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, SOPs and engineering drawings.
•    High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited educational institution 
•    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship 
•    Relocation assistance is not available for this position.  Only candidates in the immediate geographical area (60 mile radius) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.  

 

Preferred:  

•    Two or more years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly
•    Previous experience with standard operating procedures  
•    Previous experience with product electrical assembly, maintenance and/or repair 
•    Soldering experience
•    Experience with point-to-point wiring test using meters.

Skills

•    Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical , electrical , and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility. 
•    Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude (ability to read wiring diagrams and other technical drawings)
•    Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of basic electricity
•    Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures. 
•    Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed 
•    Ability to lift 50 lbs.  
•    Ability to distinguish colored wiring 
•    Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.
