As an Asset Associate I within the Markets Asset Servicing team, you are responsible for Income events across EMEA, WHEM & ASIA markets. You are required to ensure timely and accurate processing of income events, collection / payment of claims, timely reconciliation cash, stocks, wash across our Fixed Income / Equity and Prime Business. We work closely with internal stakeholders including trading desks, sales, finance and other operations team and work in partnership with clients, custodians, agents, depo, and 3rd party service providers. You will be responsible to execute goals and objectives set up to deliver core business deliverables. This interaction enables employees to gain an insight into other operations and obtain a high-level knowledge of the diverse range of the J.P. Morgan products.
Job responsibilities:
Ensure all pre-event reconciliation and pay date event processing related on Income events such as dividend, coupons and redemptions are completed in a timely manner to avoid impact in Desk PnL and Prime Clients Ensure partnership with external and internal counterparties, timely responses and completion of outstanding items in managing new and old items for payable and receivable claims covering SBL, market failed claims (dividend and bonds), coupon claims and Repo claims Perform oversight and ensure all cash breaks, wash breaks, suspense breaks and control account breaks are reconciled timely, match-off correctly and reduce or Nil accumulation of over 30 days aged items. Manage any potential system feed issues, late/incorrect investigation, follow-through till resolution. Act as a point of contact for clients / internal stakeholder such as Trading desk, Middle Office, Finance and other operations team within Markets Operations for all escalations and ensure adequate coverage by service teams Serve as a subject matter expert for the functions managed Perform process re-engineering activities, support automations, identify and close process gaps, support remediation activities Maintain documented procedures and ensure adherence to and compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirement and deploy effective cross training to ensure all critical functions have in built resiliencies Provide SME support for various transformation initiatives driven by senior management from time to time and influence end outcome Identify ways to improve processes/procedures to enhance quality and/or productivity Act as a subject matter expert on procedural matters, and be the funnel for communication with the global teamsRequired qualifications, capabilities and skills
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, preferably with Asset Servicing background covering either Income and Corporate action or with any Market Operations processing background Experience in data transformation tools, such as Alteryx and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView/QlikSense and enhanced data mining skills using SQL, SAS, Python, or other equivalent tools) Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex operational issues Problem solving skills – the candidate must demonstrate exceptional judgment and the ability to independently identify and escalate key issues, obtain appropriate information form further analysis, and develop actionable recommendations Teamwork skills – the candidate must be flexible in his/her/their work style and be able to work appropriately with stakeholders and colleagues at all level Good Inter-personal and relationship management skills Ability to partner with multiple internal teams, external clients & 3rd party service providers Ability to work independently and achieve desired results and have an eye for detail Ability to manage tight delivery timelines, and ensure our organization is on track to execute and deliver strategic change that meets our goals Ability to organize to prioritize workload to manage concurrent tasks and meet competing deadlinesPreferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Minimum Bachelor’s degree [Finance, Business, Accounting] Strong understanding of different technological development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and design techniques with ability to successfully lead regardless of approach Business analytics or project management certifications a plus Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Experience using automation tools a plus (e.g., Python, Alteryx, Tableau) With Series 99 license holder is a plus but not required
