**Position Summary:**
**CIBC US Asset-based Lending is seeking an Associate Underwriting & Marketing Specialist to assist their West Coast Origination Team with all new business marketing and underwriting support for prospective deals. This role will assist ABL business development officers with all lead generation activities, coordinate ABL’s strategy surrounding digital marketing activities in the region, coupled with support the team's underwriters with prospective credits.**
**The prospective market for clients includes entrepreneur-led/privately-held companies, publicly-traded customers, and financially-sponsored businesses with financing needs generally in the $10MM to $75MM range with syndication capabilities in excess of $75MM. The Associate Underwriting & Marketing Specialist is expected to work closely with our West Region Originations team in support of both marketing and underwriting efforts in to obtain new prospective relationships in the region. This role will also provide for direct access to ABL senior management with growth opportunities within the team.**
**Position Responsibilities:**
**Responsible for managing the annual marketing plan for the West Region Originations Team with a primary focus on new lead generation. This position will work in partnership with CIBC’s internal marketing team and ABL senior management. The annual marketing plan will be inclusive of targeted digital content, trade journal announcements, and our digital marketing footprint.**
**This will position will be accountable for database connectivity amongst third party resources coupled with connectivity to trade associations targeted by the ABL team.**
**Lead generation responsibilities for targeted lead list for direct calling and sponsor calling activities by the seasoned business development team.**
**Maintenance of legacy tombstone library, prior deals reviewed, and mining of new opportunities.**
**This position will be part of the new West Coast Originations Team with the ability to grow into other areas within our ABL business.**
**Underwriting support for prospective credits including industry analysis, internal risk rating systems, return models, prior bank connectivity/industry expertise, etc.**
**In addition, this position will help with internal functions needed across various disciplines with our ABL team including, but not limited to, annual portfolio reviews, trend card creation, inter-bank referral tracking, etc.**
**Expectation is the position will fulfill all requirements for doing the right thing for customers and colleagues along with operating within the Bank’s risk appetite.**
**Required to complete all required Compliance training examinations on a timely basis.**
**Qualifications:**
**Bachelor’s degree and 3-years plus years of ABL and/or commercial banking experience.**
**Formal credit training is a plus with a cursory knowledge of asset-based lending marketplace, industries best served, and ability to differentiate between asset-based lending structures and other debt needs.**
**Self-starter with willingness to work efficiently and appetite to grow within his/her career.**
**Develops insightful, value-added marketing content used for direct targeted marketing purposes.**
**Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills with prospects, clients, deal intermediaries, colleagues, and senior management.**
**Excellent Microsoft Office skills with additional knowledge of RelPro, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Pitchbook viewed as a plus.**
**Job Expectations:**
**Full-time employee (40-hours per week).**
**Hybrid office/work from home flexibility.**
**Ideal candidate in Chicago, but other regions considered with proximity to CIBC office location.**
**Minimal travel is expected, but will be situational as needed.**

**Escalating matters that can result in adverse market practices and outcomes, thereby negatively impacting CIBC’s reputation as a leading financial institution.**
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $65,000.00 - $110000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
