This is a great opportunity to join the Singapore Asset Management Legal Entity Controller team. The Asset Management finance team based in Singapore supports the finance functions for asset management business in Singapore, South East Asia and Australia. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the team and contribute to a role that encompasses financial control, regulatory, tax and management reporting.
As a Legal Entity Controller within the Singapore and Australia Asset Management Legal Entities, you will be tasked with ensuring the precise and punctual submission of financial reports and regulatory filings. Your role will involve enhancing efficiency, providing accurate financial data, and collaborating with different groups to implement effective controls. Additionally, you will have the chance to participate in analyzing the implications of new business developments and changes in the regulatory framework on the legal entity.
Job responsibilities
Manage month-end close process to ensure accurate and complete close of books and records under US GAAP as well as local GAAP for Singapore and Australia Asset Management Legal Entities Perform analytical review to identify any significant misstatement on Balance Sheet and Income Statement, and liaise with other functions to identify business drivers for significant variances Involve in the monthly general ledger certification and substantiation process Work closely with the Regional MIS team in HK on financial planning and analysis processes such as monthly Flash vs Actual reporting and reviewing outlook revenue and expenses Assist in the regulatory, tax and management reporting. Support the annual statutory and tax audits in Singapore and Australia Support the preparation of meeting materials for various location management committee meetings and regional finance control meetings Participate in working groups for projects and new initiatives impacting the Singapore and Australia Asset Management Legal Entities Maintain high level of internal control standardsRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a public accounting firm and/or in a financial institution with relevant finance knowledge Deep knowledge on Risk-based Capital adequacy requirements for local regulatory reporting relating to CMSL license legal entities Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and US GAAP Strong analytical skills and ability to think broadly and make connections between diverse issues and tasks Effective communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with global counterparts Meticulous and strong control awareness Committed, proactive and demonstrates initiative to drive better workflow efficiency Excellent project management, multi-tasking and collaboration skillsPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Proficient user of MS suite of products (e.g. Word, Excel. Powerpoint) Knowledge/experience with one or several dash-boarding/automation tools (Tableau, Alteryx, Python, etc.)
