Teradyne is seeking an experienced and motivated individual for the role of Engineering Asset Specialist. You will be responsible for overseeing and improving capital management processes within the PMO (Project Management Organization). This role will focus on enhancing the predictability and accuracy of capital spend, integrating PM data across various departments, and developing efficient processes for equipment management and capital tracking. This newly created, highly visible position will report into the Engineering PMO with frequent direct interaction with the Engineering VP and staff. The position will work closely with Finance, Project Management, Planning, and Lab Management groups. This is an individual contributor role with room for growth in the organization.
This is an onsite role located in our North Reading, MA office.
Opportunity Overview
Capital Management Process Improvement: Review and validate spending plans for large capital assets with Project Managers. Establish and manage a triage process for missed or inaccurate capital plans. Develop and maintain a process/tracker for inter-project equipment handoffs.
Integration and Collaboration: Improve the integration of capital equipment data across Finance, Planning, and Lab Management groups. Drive equipment return to stock actions and resolve capital gaps to plan. Enhance collaboration between PMO and Lab Management.
Equipment and Capital Tracking: Develop or enhance an equipment tracker. Assign and drive work from PMs and Lab Technicians to address equipment sharing and fulfillment needs. Understand project schedules related to capital needs and assist the planner – project team relationship regarding lead time and fulfillment issues. Create and review capital spend efficiency metrics (e.g., equipment usage, project capital cost over time, return to stock metrics).

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, operations field or other related discipline Proven experience in project management, including aspects of financial management, lab management, and material tracking Strong experience with integrating information and task management across multiple departments Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, project scheduling tools, and Power Point Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a results-driven mindset. Ability to travel as needed (~10%) to meet with stakeholders and track equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or advanced degree ERP systems familiarity Certified Project Management Professional
