Asset Services Director, Operations

We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Asset Service Associate in Shared Services Banking Organization (SSBO) division within Firmwide Operations to providing first class client service. This has been achieved through strong focus on control, commerciality, and people.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Associate level position level position within the Core Services, which is responsible for performing and managing product-agnostic and centralized operational services across several businesses and products.

What you’ll do in the role:

- Risk and production management of the front to back processes executed in Hong Kong.
- People management of the Hong Kong team focusing on career development, training, succession planning and recruitment.
- Driving process and technology enhancements to deliver increased STP rates and elimination of root cause within the front to back process.
- Communicating with external agents and internal business units' another essential component of the role is dealing with ad hoc requests from a variety of different Business Units across Morgan Stanley, e.g. Client Service Groups, Private Wealth Management and Financial Controllers, as and when they arise.
- Proactively look to improve the team's processes and improve it's efficiency.
- Work closely with the team leads to achieve the team goals as well as their own personal development goals.
- Client management providing first class service to stakeholders across the Trading desks, Prime Brokerage, Other Operations teams and Finance.

What you’ll bring to the role:

- At least 2 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
- Solid track record working within an operations environment
- Can work well under pressure, lending control and order to a difficult or pressurized situation
- Can deal easily with multiple issues and tasks
- Proven management experience. Skills in delegation, organization and people management to ensure the team can work effectively
- Strong Communication skills
- Proactive Team Player who actively promotes sharing of knowledge
- Prepared to work additional hours to meet deadlines and strong time management skills
- High regard for attention to detail, accuracy quality
- Approaches all situations with positive outlook, energy and enthusiasm. Is a self-starter who takes individual ownership for work quality and improvement. Leads by examples working with drive and determination
- Shows initiative and creativity, taking a long-term approach to improvement and resolution of issues
- Is self-confident, demonstrates integrity and business-appropriate behavior
- Ability to question a process and promote own ideas and solution
- Strong organizational skills, to be able to use time well and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the department
- Previous experience of Corporate Actions preferable
