Overview:

The Insurance Strategy team designs and develops comprehensive investment management solutions customized to meet the investment objectives and relevant constraints of our global insurance clients. In particular, these solutions integrate asset-liability management (ALM) techniques and strategic asset allocation, while incorporating capital, tax, and regulatory constraints.

This team is looking for a strategist (i.e., strat). The Strategists use quantitative techniques and industry knowledge to develop real-world solutions for insurance clients. The strategists participate in meetings and presentations designed to build relationships and pursue commercial opportunities with insurance company clients and prospects alongside other members from the group, such as the insurance relationship team, insurance fixed income portfolio management team, and other portfolio management teams (e.g., alternatives, equities). Common investment projects include: strategic asset allocation, asset-liability matching, tax and capital efficiency, and tail risk modeling. The successful candidate is comfortable developing, utilizing, and explaining financial models to both technical and non-technical audiences.  

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain financial models, using object-oriented programming and other toolsDesign new investment strategies appropriate for insurance companiesPerform customized research and work with institutional clients to address their unique investment issuesPrepare and deliver presentations for client meetings

Qualifications:

Industry experience in insurance company directly, or actuarial consulting / actuarial software company is strongly preferredAbility to grasp problems described by clients, formulate them clearly, and communicate the resulting analysis to clients with a wide-range of analytical and technical expertiseStrong background in a quantitative disciplineProgramming skills and math backgroundStrong communications skillsIntelligence, creativity, and problem-solving skillsA self-starter, should have ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team environmentActuarial credentials and/or CFA a plus

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $110000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
