Job Overview:

The Assistant of the Child Day Treatment department utilizes the program vehicle to safely transport the program participants to and from the program or to appointments in a timely manner, as directed by the program staff.

The Assistant participates in the management of crisis situations as directed and according to established policy and procedure.

The Assistant also participates in treatment team planning meetings, program participant/staff meetings, group and community meetings as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's Degree or previous experience working in a child behavioral health setting Possession of a valid New Jersey Driver's License, and required to maintain a safe driving record and a valid driver s license

Scheduling Requirements:

Monday-Friday 8-4pmFT

Essential Functions:

Participates in creating a therapeutic milieu which supports the program goals of providing a nurturing and supportive environment to assist participants in learning to deal effectively with emotions and behaviors.Implements program rules and behavior modification systemArranges social and recreational activities as neededRecords pertinent data according to standardsCoordinates the registration process and ensures that all consents/authorizations are obtained prior to treatmentParticipates in the development of an appropriate treatment plan and in subsequent treatment plan reviewsParticipates in weekly team meetings and weekly planning meetingsCoordinates scheduling for follow up to all appointments with the program physicianPrecepts new employees and students, as requestedProvides case management services when patients transition from one level of service to anotherIndependently initiates contact with appropriate outside providers as necessary, in order to effect comprehensive treatment planningEnsures that program participants receive meals and medications on a daily basisLeads assigned psycho-education groups on a regular basis and as neededDrives program vehicle (van) to transport patients to and from program, as requestedIndependently participates in crisis situations, on site, as directed, including use of mechanical restraints, when necessaryPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job, and duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice
