The Technical Assistant is responsible for providing intermediate-level clerical support by performing routine duties as assigned and will work under the direct supervision of a Technical Manager.
What You Will Do:
Creates and maintains databases for technical departments. Maintains daily log-on of submittals. Maintains sophisticated filing systems for technical departments. Supports technical staff of the department as required regarding project tracking, logging, filing, or responding to client requests, etc. Performs most of the general office or clerical duties for the assigned technical department, including but not limited to stamping and booking out submittals. May be responsible for maintaining the Technical or Engineering Department library. Learns other complex functions or computer applications in support of an Engineering or Technical Department. Utilizes various systems for tasks such as accounts receivable tracking, billing and record keeping. Ensures proper billing processes are followed, and accurate records are kept of department activities.What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 0 – 2 years of related experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Considerable previous related experience or a combination of education and experience. Ability to learn and understand established procedures and practices. Good arithmetic skills. Strong MS Office experience, such as word processing and spreadsheet creation Ability to understand routine business concepts and instructions. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Familiar with the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.Reporting Relationships:
Reports to a Supervisor, Manager,or above. This position has no direct reports.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily sedentary; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
