Summary You will serve as an Assistant in the office of the Commander of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. If selected, you will serve as the Executive Assistant for the Commander and the Chief of Staff. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NG-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-09 and GS-10. The NG-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-11 and 12. Salary Ranges: NG-04: $54,440 - $86,085 NG-05: $66,216 - $113,362 Responsibilities You will compose and review correspondence, memoranda and other materials on technical and non-technical matters for the signature of the Commander. You will type and review a variety of memoranda and reports for accuracy and content. You will determine the routing of correspondence to staff members, setting controls and deadlines. You will develop, coordinate, disseminate and evaluate NSWC Headquarters policies and procedures. You will provide guidance related to strategies that affect NSWCDD and advise CDSA Dam Neck, field activities, detachments, and departments on issues involving Command decisions. You will plan, develop, coordinate, and support visits of influential civic and government leaders. You will design, develop, and manage systems, processes, and procedures necessary for tracking and documenting high level activities for projects/programs and for the Commander and Chief of Staff. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR THE NG-05: Your resume must indicate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade NG-04 (GS-09/10 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing or coordinating the clerical, administrative, or secretarial functions for an executive level office or manager. Examples of qualifying experience may include: developing or evaluating administrative policies and procedures; organizing and ensuring the flow of clerical processes; ensuring correspondence, requisitions, personnel action requests, and travel documents adhere to policy; making extensive travel arrangements; de-conflicting or optimizing appointment schedules to maximize time efficiency; coordinating all arrangements for meetings or off-site conferences; developing spreadsheets, charts, or graphs to support executive level requirements. FOR THE NG-04: Your resume must indicate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade NG-03 (GS-07/08 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing clerical, administrative, or secretarial support for an office or organization. Examples of qualifying experience may include: preparing correspondence and other documents; coordinating meetings; maintaining the status of action items; scheduling appointments; screening calls or visitors; entering data into electronic systems or spreadsheets to support travel, timekeeping, or procurement.
