Lyon College seeks an Assistant Academic Operations Manager full-time position. Responsibilities include customary secretarial duties such as greeting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, ordering and maintaining course and office supplies and serving as recorder for assigned committees. Other duties will include providing support for academic services areas with program accreditation, program assessments, special events and projects. Candidates must have a high degree of literacy with advanced editing skills and accomplished skills in Microsoft software applications. Prior secretarial experience is required. Experience in higher education is desired.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Perform customary clerical and secretarial duties. Serve as recorder of disciplinary, divisional, and standing committee meetings. Standing
committee assignments are determined by the Chief Academic Officer. Assist divisional faculty with course evaluations, senior surveys, program assessments, and other
assigned reports. Place work orders for facilities and IT requests. Facilitate faculty searches in accordance with college policy and search guidelines.
Coordinate with high schools from across the state, faculty and room scheduling for Academic
Day and other academic events for the Derby, Alphin, Brown, and Holloway Theater faculty. Assist with organization and material preparation for Matriculation, Founder’s Day, Honors Day,
Baccalaureate, and Commencement. Coordinate purchase of course and office supplies and advise division chair(s) on monthly
budget reports. Make lab supply purchases upon request. Collect course syllabi and faculty hours each term; communicate class cancellations & office
hours.
Support faculty in the use of information technology, including the use of the College’s course
management system.
Provide support for the activities of the Nursing program. Assume other related duties as assigned by the Academic Operations Manager or the Chief
Academic Officer.
